This year's been pretty disheartening for artists, especially those in-industry. Lotta layoffs, difficult to find work... Honestly, I found myself grappling with wondering if I should move to something else, if I'm just not cut out for this.
That said, I think it helped to start drawing for myself again... Because when it's your livelihood, it's easy to lose sight of the reason you started to begin with. For me, it's always been about fun, about communication, and connecting with people.
For those finding themselves on the edge of giving up- Take a step back. Breathe. And try to remember what it was that drew you to making art in the first place.
And hey, if you lost your passion for it, there's no shame in moving on to something else that ignites that spark in you.
Anyway I'm rambling, but this piece deffo gave me food for thought. Nice work!
This was a really fun watch! Love the style and character designs, pretty nostalgic to me having grown up with Invader Zim lol. I'd say the main thing to keep in mind for next time is just making sure your audio's balanced, there were some bits that were way louder or quieter than the rest of the animation, and the dialogue was a lil bit hard to hear over the music at times. That said, really enjoyed this! Keep it up!
Oh, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! And thank you for the feedback, I'll make sure to take it into account for next time!
Hey, I'm Nellie, a.k.a. Spooky. I draw stuff and am workin' on a webcomic about a cursed phantom thief. I like monster tamer videos game, sushi, and spending my free time making little guys and putting them in situations.
